Sydney celebrates and mourns at the annual Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade

Hundreds of thousands of revellers lined the streets of Sydney to watch the 2024 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.

The iconic LGBTQIA+ Pride march is the largest in the Southern Hempisphere and is the only night time queer parade in the world.

Fresh off last year’s epic World Pride. Mardi Gras sashayed its way up Sydneys Oxford Street with over 10,000 participants wowing the crowds with political messages, campness, glitter and a tonne of celebrities including G Flip, Hannah Conda (RuPauls Drag Race) just to name a couple.

Our standouts were the “Drag story time is not a crime”, and Qantas’ tribute to local lads Jessie Baird and Luke Davies who were taken from the world thanks to a horrendous crime.
