Geordan's Top New York Nosh's

In a city that's absolutely smothered with restaurants, cafe's and bars it's hard to know where to get the best feeds or better yet - the top nosh for your dosh. So we asked our resident New Yorker to head out into the streets and find ten of the best places to grab a bite in NYC.

Russ And Daughters

If you want white fish, herring, or a bagel with lox and cream cheese, you come here.

No where else!

This is the spot.

Two locations offer you the option of take away or sit down.  A staple of the lower east side, it's something you have to try when in NYC.$$

Spice Thai

My favorite place to go for their lunch special.  An appetizer and an entree for about $9.

Pad Thai, curry, or any other Thai cuisine is fantastic here.

Consistent and delicious.

Numerous locations in NYC as well, and all are fantastic, though service is better at some over others.$

Wo-Hop Chinese

I've been coming here since I was am infant and always love it.

Not only because of the memories, but because of the food. Yum yum yum!

Everyone has their opinions whether the food is better upstairs or downstairs, but you'll have to decide for yourself.

I've been satisfied at both.

Order a few items and share. You won't regret it!

Mad Dog Mexican

Fresh Mexican food in the traditional style and Mad Dob and Bean has got it!

That's all that needs to be said about Mad Dog and Bean... tacos tacos tacos!

Have some margaritas and indulge.  $$

Epstein's Bar

I'm obsessed with this place.

It looks like a dive bar and it is, but make no mistake, the food is delicious!

Cheap drinks too, so get smashed and eat well at the same time.

Lots of locals hang out and the crowd is young and fun. Burgers, salads, appetizers and drinks at a great price in a fun environment.

Their "bottomless" brunch on Sunday's is a must as well.

Adrienne's Pizza

Hands down the best thick crust pizza in NYC. You want to eat the whole pie yourself, but one pie can easily be shared with three (depending on the appetite of you and your friends).

I always warn the thrifty customer to notice the cost of toppings - as it is almost the same if you order half a pie with a topping as the whole pie.

But, everything is...perfection.

I've had other items on the menu, but go here for pizza.$$

Panna II

A festive environment with delicious Indian food, sit in the outdoor space and enjoy a little bit of India in NYC's East Village.

Vegetarian options available, so everyone can enjoy the atmosphere and food.

This place started my addiction to Indian cuisine.

Katz's Deli

Head downtown to this lower east side establishment.

Get a ticket when you walk in.

Every customer needs one even if they aren't ordering anything, otherwise you get charged when you leave.

Whether you want pastrami, corned beef, or a hot dog, this is the place!

Although, sorry, my mom's matzoh ball soup is a million times better :)

Trattoria Dell Arte

While my all time favorite item, the salmon with homemade sauce, is no longer on the menu, nothing on this menu isn't worth indulging.

Fresh, delectable and pure perfection.

The only reason it isn't my number one choice is because of the cost.

My advice, make a reservation and share a few items.  You won't regret it!$$$$

Bar Americain

Bobby Flay's Bar Americain is one of my favorite indulgences in NYC.

The eclectic menu offers everything from fresh made potato chips with blue cheese dip to delectable steaks to seafood.

Even their fried chicken is divine.

Whether for a business meal, a nice date, a birthday celebration, or get together, there is something for everyone. $$$
