We have done the research - the hard yards so you don;t have too. Sydney is a Summer city - one to explore and dig your teeth into - but for those of you that want a hand to find out what REALLY is worth checking out, then we have the tips (in no particular order) for you… we know you won't be disappointed.

You may not want to spend your summer locked inside a dark theatre, but really - this movie is totally worth it! Cher, Xtina and a bevvie of sexy boys to entertain you with song and dance? The movie is a visual treat - shot beautifully - and it will take you away into a fantasy land where you will be tapping your toes, rooting for the characters, and wanting to go and line up again straight away to see it again. Be warned - this movie will be addictive. Oh, and if you do really want to stay outside - the "Open Air Cinema" will be playing Burlesque on it's opening night - so you can get the stars with the 'stars'!

Want to pretend your Kylie Minogue in Slow? Well join Sydney's glitterati at Lady Macquarie Chair on the Harbour for this pool experience with a city twist. Beautiful people, actual swimming, a swish cafe and views to die for - its a fab way to spend a morning or an afternoon.

IF you have a little furry member of the family, then summer time means Centennial Park! Take them for a woof and walk around the centre of the park near the swan ponds. If your up for a feed or a little bit thirsty - there is a cute HotDog stand on the weekends which can take care of you - otherwise a picnic on the ample grassy fields are a must do.

TAP DOGS Live In Sydney
It's a five week only run for Sydney - and with hunky spunky superstar Adam Garcia in the cast - it's a definite must see. The production is sharp - entertaining and delivers an amazing night out for anyone interested in sound colour and movement. What more could you want - hot boys, tap dancing, steel and drums and a kick ass - ever expanding set that will just make you think - my lord, what will they be doing next?! Clever, entertaining and it WILL make you want to pick up a pair of tap shoes for yourself.

This exhibition is a must see - now the brilliance of this photographer is captured in a sensational exhibition at the Museum Of Contemporary Art at Circular Quay. This lady is responsible for most of this century's most iconic images and the are all there. The only down side of this exhibition is that some of the lighting is really harsh -- hopefully by the time you guys go and see it - the museum would have fixed it up! Either way its well worth the tiny admission fee of $15.

From the first night opening spectacular to the endless art gallery events, theatre presentations and happenings- the Sydney Festival 2011 will be going off with a bang this year - and there is so much on - you really will have a hard time picking and choosing whats worth checking out. There are massive printed guides all over the city, so grab one and have a flick - we recommend sitting at a coffee shop for a morning with a highlighter and a very tall drink.

The Midnight Shift on a Sunday night is THE place to see what has to be Sydney's funniest and most original drag show. Forget robot dancing and Whitney Houston wannabes, internationally famous drag stars, Maxi Shield and Verushka Darling deliver a comical show inspired by the camp classic TV show "Are You Being Served". Intensely funny dialogue, great dance parts and costuming to die for - this is what Aussie drag is all about. If your a local and have not seen it - take your self down to the Midnight Shift. Take your friends form overseas, and if your visiting - make sure it's on your schedule. Shows at 9pm, 10pm and main show at 11.30pm. FREE ENTRY.

Ok, it's pretty obvious that you would want to check out the beaches this summer, but any member of our community that does not visit North Bondi at least once during the summer should be severely punished. lol. The place is home to North Bondi Lifesavers, who are 'homeground' for the infamous "Lifesavers with Pride". The beach on the north end is also the glam, view and perky part… with hot boys and girls all showing off their summer tans and white white smiles. (Photo courtesy of

It may be the end of summer when Mardi Gras comes around - but boy - is it worth the wait. Imagine a festival jam packed with superstars, a world famous parade - this year directed by Ignatius Jones, and parties that will have you begging for more! Last year the after party was a blast with Kelly Rowland, George Michael, Amanda Lapore and heaps more! So you know this year is going to be HUGE!
