It's seems as if there is to be the end of several clubbing era's this October long weekend, with not one, but two iconic Sydney gay establishments closing their doors for good.
First, the Midnight Shift Club - the UPSTAIRS part of the venue. It seems that the downstairs portion of the venue has been succeeding far and above the dance space upstairs. The club will have its final event on the October long weekend and be closed for good. We approached the management for comment on the situation - and are currently awaiting the finalisation of an interview with them - shall be online shortly.
The second is the Flinders Hotel - the recently renovated and relaunched hotel had a short visit, with its strengths being many community group nights, fundraisers and events… many of the groups are relocating to other venues, or closing as well.
More news on this story will be posted as it comes to hand.
