SUMMARY:Pride March
DESCRIPTION:Be part of this historic moment where LGBTQIA+ people walk side by side with friends\, families and allies across one of our most famous icons; the Sydney Harbour Bridge. \nThis is an event for all those who want equality. Everywhere.\nIn this momentous occasion\, 50\,000 people will march across the bridge in a spectacular act of solidarity and coming together as one. \nThis is a moment to reflect on those that cannot be there to walk this journey. It is proudly standing for those whose situations make it impossible to live their truth and share the freedoms we do in our country. It is remembering the injustices we are still fighting for and honouring those that have paved the way before us.

SUMMARY:Sydney World Pride 2023
DESCRIPTION:WorldPride is a global Pride celebration that happens every few years in a different city. The right to host it is licenced by InterPride which has representatives from nearly every Pride organisation around the world. Previous WorldPride celebrations include New York in 2019 marking 50 years since the Stonewall uprising\, and Copenhagen in 2021 celebrating both WorldPride and the EuroGames. Sydney was chosen by InterPride members to be the host of WorldPride in 2023\, and we couldn’t be more proud.  \nSydney WorldPride events will take place from February 17 2023 until March 5 2023\, with the official Sydney WorldPride Opening Ceremony taking place on February 24\, a First Nations Gathering Space\, a game-changing Human Rights Conference\, an unforgettable Pride March across the Sydney Harbour Bridge\, a closing ceremony and a sensational party on Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach (plus lots more events still to be announced)! \nWe are developing a full arts and cultural program across Greater Sydney reflective of our diverse LGBTIQ+ communities. It will span theatre\, visual arts\, music and cabaret and have a strong focus on First Nations peoples and the Asia-Pacific. \nWe’ve taken the opportunity to bring WorldPride to the southern hemisphere for the first time – not only representing Australian states and territories\, but also bringing focus to our neighbouring countries in the Asia-Pacific region who do not all have the same level of equality and human rights that we do. \nSydney WorldPride will help shine a light on these injustices. Our Human Rights Conference will be a platform for discussion\, ideas exchange\, and thought leadership. We’re aiming to give marginalised communities solidarity and support on the world stage like never before. \nWe’re also committed to ensuring our festival is accessible to people of all abilities. Transport\, communications\, amenities and related services will be optimised for overall comfort and enjoyment of attendees. To utilise accessibility from anywhere in the world\, all possible digital avenues will be explored so that remote audiences can be a part of Sydney WorldPride online.

SUMMARY:Darwin Pride 2022
DESCRIPTION:In 1985\, a group of passionate Darwinites came together to create the very first Darwin Pride Festival – promoting diversity\, equality and celebrating LGBTQIA+ communities. These brave individuals shined the spotlight on issues that needed to change and celebrated what already made us shine. Over three decades on\, we’re continuing what they began. \nIn 2019\, Darwin Pride became an incorporated association for the purposes of: \n  \n\nprogram  and  facilitate  events  throughout  the  year  which  meet  the  needs  of  the  LGBTQIA+ community liaise with government\, community groups and members of the public to understand and meet the needs of the LGBTQIA+ community and the broader community as appropriate\nfundraise and utilise available grants to provide the above services\ndonate to causes and events which we believe supports the ethos\, objects and purposes of the Association\n\n  \nTop End Pride is run by volunteers who are passionate about equality\, and diversity. We meet on a regular basis to plan and coordinate events and to work closely with local Government bodies to ensure we have our voices heard for future generations. \nIt is our mission to continue to raise awareness within our community and campaign for freedoms that will allow our people to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. \nDarwin Pride (NT) Inc\, rebrand to Top End Pride (NT) Inc. \nAt the 2020 Annual General Meeting\, the members of Darwin Pride (NT) Incorporated discussed and agreed to rename and rebrand the organisation to Top End Pride (NT) Incorporated.  The new logo was launched in 2021. \nThe Committee chose this design for the following reasons: \n*The first notable piece of the art work is the outline of the Northern Territory as it identifies us being from this great land. \n*The colours of Pride are diverse and we decided to include such colours which also represent our spectacular sunsets seen here in the Northern Territory. \n*As the Brolga can often be seen in the stunning parks of Northern Territory\, we decided to have this great crane as a feature of our logo. \n

SUMMARY:Pink Dot Singapore 2022
DESCRIPTION:Singapore’s landmark LGBTQ+ rally – Pink Dot Singapore – will return to Hong Lim Park on 18 June 2022 after two years of online-only events. \n“We’re excited to return home to Hong Lim Park. The feelings of kinship and community is something we’ve all missed dearly during the last two years\, especially after how difficult the pandemic has been for us\, and our disappointing loss of the 377A constitutional challenge\,” said Pink Dot SG spokesperson Clement Tan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe 14th edition of Pink Dot SG will harken back to its roots with a daytime dot\, inviting participants to write messages of hope and change on physical placards. In response to the government’s promise that it will review its policies to reflect shifts in social attitudes\, Pink Dot will call on participants to collectively envision what a more inclusive future could look like. \n“Change can only come through collective action. We hope that people will show up\, stand together with the community\, and speak up for the change they want to see in Singapore”\, said Mr Tan. \nIn accordance with local regulations\, the event will welcome Singaporeans and Permanent Residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. All entrants are required to provide proof of vaccination at entry points. To be considered fully vaccinated\, they must have received their primary vaccination series\, along with a booster jab within 270 days of the last dose. \nAs participants will be outdoors\, they are not required to wear face masks and will be allowed to enjoy picnics with family and friends. They will also be treated to the Pink Dot Concert\, which includes performances by groups like Singapore Drag Royalty. \nThe Community Tent\, a mainstay at every Pink Dot event since 2012\, will convene LGBTQ+ groups this year. These organisations provide year-round support and have been critical to the well-being of the community over the course of the pandemic. Participants are encouraged to visit the groups to engage with community leaders\, gain access to resources\, and learn more about LGBTQ+ issues in Singapore. \nRed Dot for Pink Dot also returns with another campaign to raise funds for the event\, calling on corporate Singapore to continue taking a stand for diversity and inclusion. The initiative will be led by business leaders Goh Shu Fen\, Co-founder and Principal at R3; Ho Ren Yung\, VP\, Brand HQ at Banyan Tree Group; Kathy Teo\, Founder and Managing Director\, Xpointo Media; and Tripti Lochan\, Global Capability Development Officer\, VMLY&R. \n“Freedom to love is a basic human right\, a core value built around diversity and inclusion. We are living in an increasingly divided world\,” said Ho Ren Yung. “The ability to reach across the spaces between us\, for dialogue and co-created understanding\, is what will keep us safe.”
