The Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and sexy Lifesavers at North Bondi beach are the backdrop for Mardi Gras's 2015 tourism campaign featuring Mardi Gras Global Ambassador, Courtney Act!
Courtney is the first drag queen (and one of a handful of people) to climb to the top sail of the Sydney Opera House.
There is no place like Sydney in summer and no time like Mardi Gras so go book your ticket to Sydney NOW for the 2015 Mardi Gras festival.

“As part of Courtney Act’s role as our global ambassador, we wanted to create a campaign featuring Courtney to promote Mardi Gras around the world, and encourage people to visit Sydney and immerse themselves in the festivities.
Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Bondi Beach are three of the most iconic Sydney locations that international visitors recognise, so we came up with the idea of shooting Courtney in these locations, radiating with all the colours of Mardi Gras; our beacon of love and diversity for the world to see and celebrate with us.
Shooting the campaign with award-winning photographer John McRae, was an unforgettable experience for all of us, but not without it’s challenges – Courtney was the consummate professional, taking 4am starts and icy mid-winter winds in her stride while she worked her magic in a swimsuit on Bondi Beach surrounded by the North Bondi Lifesavers, and brought some runway realness in a diaphanous Marco Marco gown on the apex of Sydney Opera House. It’s a tribute to Courtney’s considerable talents that the images look as gorgeous and summery as they do!”
