UK TV Star Duncan James opens up about being Gay

UK TV Star and boyband member, Duncan James has opened up about his sexuality in a candid interview on TV show - Loose Women, saying that coming out was "the best thing he ever did".

Duncan is best known for being a member of boyband Blue, but he is currently starring in Hollyoaks as detective Ryan Knight.

Fans of the soapie will know that his character Ryan is currently hiding his sexuality, after it was revealed he was cheating with Kyle Kelly on the night his wife Amy Barnes died. (ooooer!)

And after reflecting on his character's storyline with the Loose Women panel, Duncan started to open up about his own experience.

"After years of carrying this secret inside me, I wanted to be who I am", he explained of coming out. "I wanted acceptance. I carried this burden on my shoulders for so many years.

"I was worried about what the fans would think, I was worried about family and friends, and I was living a lie really. It was the best thing I ever did.

"I did a story in a newspaper about coming out and it was one of the best things that could have happened."

On the reaction he received, Duncan added: "I thought people would say horrible things, but nothing happened. I just had positivity, love and support.

"It's so important for people to feel comfortable with who they are and to come out and feel proud of who they are.

"I was very lucky that I had wonderful response from everybody and it made me feel happy that I could be me.

"We are living in 2017 now and it shouldn't be a problem anymore."

"Will & Grace" is the latest TV show to get a reboot.

The hit sitcom — which aired during the late '90s to mid-2000's — will see a resurgence on the small screen, star Leslie Jordan revealed this week.

"Will & Grace" aired on NBC and follows the lives of Will, a gay lawyer and his longtime college friend, Grace. The series starred Sean Hayes, Megan Mullally, Eric McCormack and Debra Messing.

Jordan, who portrayed Beverly Leslie on the beloved show, told San Diego radio station KPBS that NBC has ordered 10 new episodes of the show, which will begin filming in July.

"It's back," he said.

After the interviewer noted that a return was “perhaps” happening, Jordan interjected to say, “"not perhaps… absolutely.”

Earlier this month, Mullally had also hinted the show would return.

The series' cast members have reunited a few times before — including once in a video in support of Hillary Clinton.
