Cher's role in Mamma Mia finally exposed

Cher’s role in the upcoming Mamma Mia! film sequel, titled Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, has been revealed. The surprising news? She’ll play Meryl Streep’s mother.

The New York Post reports that the Oscar and Grammy winner will play Donna Sheridan’s mother in a series of flashbacks to the 1960s that will feature Lily James as young Donna.

Cher teased that she joined the film on October 16, tweeting a nod to the Mamma Mia! finale costumes.

Returning for the sequel are the 2008 movie’s original stars: Streep as Donna, Julie Walters as Rosie, Christine Baranski as Tanya, Amanda Seyfried as Sophie, and Dominic Cooper as Sky. Also featured are Andy Garcia, Alexa Davies, Jessica Keenan Wynn, Jeremy Irvine, Josh Dylan, and Hugh Skinner.

Ol Parker is writer-director on the film that is currently filming in Croatia.

A street party announced for Australian marriage equality results night.

Plans for celebrations are well underway for the same sex marriage postal survey in Australia. It will also be a call for action by the government as the postal survey is not binding on the government or any minister in the chamber.

Australians forked out over 122m dollars for this survey where only approx 69% of ballots were returned from those Australians who were eligible to have their say.

The street 'party' will be held in Sydney at the iconic Oxford Street, where the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade traverses each year. With four stages, lots of artists and performers - it will be (hopefully) a celebration and a moment to reinforce Australia's want for equality.

All polls and most politicians are now saying that the YES vote will win hands down. However, if the NO vote gets up - the event will still go ahead and become a force for future change on the issue.

Check out the details and RSVP to the event here.

Hot Aussie Firemen with Aussie animals

The 2018 Australian Firefighters Calendar is here, and it’s pretty much the only reason we’re excited for the new year to begin.

Since 1993, the Land Down Under has been gracing us each fall with a (literally) smoking bounty of rock-hard abs, biceps of steel, and turnout coats, and the latest edition certainly does not disappoint. You have your choice between hot firefighters posing with zoo animals, hot firefighters holding puppies, or just hot firefighters being hot, and – blessed be – they offer international shipping.

The proceeds are going to the Children’s Hospital Foundation, so you could also order all three, you know, for the sake of the children.

Take it all in for yourself below, though you might want to keep a cold, damp towel nearby, in case of… Smoke inhalation.

Trevor Ashley revives his annual Pantomime with "The Bodybag"

He's back, the Diamonds are for Trevor (Opera House), Liza (UK Tour) Les Mis and Jesus Christ Superstar headliner, none other than the incomparable Trevor Ashley!

Bringing his seasonal pantomime back to life with a very funny piss-take on the BodyGuard... he is joined on stage by a cast including the very cute Gus Murray.

Titled "Bodybag", Trevor's new show see's him in the lead role of "multi-award winning superstar Rachel Marinade" (not a US superstar, but a runner-up on Australian Idol)

"But after a spate of creepy 'fan mail' it's clear that Rachel needs protection. Not only that, after being charged in local court for holding a fake driver's license, she also needs transport," and that's from the show's press description!!! (Paulini lookout!)

"Enter ex-ASIO officer, and current Uber driver Tank Charmer (Gus Murray). It's not only his job to protect her –but to get her to her destination with five stars. Who knew they could fall in lust?"

Of course, with Trevor's panto's you know there is going to be a whole lot of frivolity, campness and controversy. So it's a night of theatre not to be missed.

The Bodybag runs at Sydney's Seymour Centre from December 6 to 16 making it the perfect Christmas gift. Hurry as tickets are selling fast.

Macklemore's Same Love single hits #1 after NRL Grand Final backlash

After a day of bigoted backlash against international superstar Macklemore, love is winning, with the singers "controversial" NRL Grand final song "Same Love" reaching #1 again on the iTunes chart in Australia.

The singer faced backlash as conservative political figures jumped on the bandwagon of a petition to have the singer removed from the "Australian Superbowl" amidst the countries same sex marriage postal survey.

Congratulations to all that made Macklemore #1 - lets keep it going til the end of this weekend to make it really heard.

DRAG GOSSIP

Which former drag queen was once known as a rose, but now a bitch. Living up to her new and much more socially accurate name, has she gone way too far? After several cat fights, and then threatening to kill her fellow contestants in the group chat of a Western Sydney Talent Quest. Is this the case of a poor victims social media account been hacked, or is she the perpetrator? Will she bloom into a fresh new rose, or rot into a sour old bitch. Only time will tell. I told you it's all happening out west .. WoW, are you ready for more? Which Western Sydney Drag Queen has quit a multi award winning drag show after 2 years for the second time. First time due to a lack of bookings, and now due to her pursuing more financially stable drag and makeup work. With so many cast members coming and going, mirror mirror on the wall, what will the future hold? Thank god I have a full time job and don't have to worry about things like this anymore. Will she now learn the difference between work collages and friends? Will her former work collages continue to be her friend? Sometimes it can get hard to distinguish the difference between work collages and friends.. Also The Drag Industry Variety Awards will not be on this year in October. But sources tell me it may be on in December due to a lack of money in the bank.. More info to come in next month column on 12Oct ..
Until next time stay gorgeous :

Sydney gears up for what will be Australia's largest YES vote rally.

Groups and individuals across the state are preparing to converge on Sydney's Town Hall tomorrow (Sunday 10th Sept) from 1pm to commence a rally and then a march down to Customs House at Circular Quay in support of the YES vote for Marriage Equality.

Recently the Australian city of Melbourne held a massive rally where the city turned out in force to show its support to treat all citizens equally - but predictions for Sydney, since the postal ballot was passed by the High Court, show that many more people will be turning out to make sure the YES voice is heard and seen.  From community groups to families, individuals and couples, it's going to be a massive event.

Speakers that will address the rally include supportive politicians, activists, and campaigners - all of whom have played a massive part in the long - very long - campaign for equality.

Make sure you head on down and show the country that YES is a supportive, respective and positive campaign.

Equality...

I'M SO EXCITED

We had 4 fabulous dance's  at Mounties Bowling Club,  and I want to say a special thank you to everybody which has helped us raise over $29,000 at Heaven Social Dance for The Haven and Acon . With that said I'm proud to announce that we been very lucky to lock in dates for 2018  at Mounties Bowling Club - Fairfield on the first Saturday of every second month starting on February 3rd 2018, A special thank you to the Mounties Group & LayDee KinMee for their support and understanding throughout this process , as most people are aware a lot of things have changed and we need to keep up with the changes and we hope everyone will continue to support us at Mounties Bowling Club  and help us provide a safe place for the LGBTQI community and for the local Drag Kings/Queens to have somewhere to perform with some exciting things planned for 2018...

EQUALITY = Now that the same-sex marriage plebiscite has been defeated, it all comes down to a non-compulsory postal vote. Ballot papers are expected to be sent from September 12 and voters will have until November 7 to send back their votes. A result will be declared on November 15. Unlike with regular voting, you are not legally required to vote unless you want to. To make sure your opinion on the matter is heard, it's important that you're properly registered. Now's the time to check that you're enrolled to vote and your details are up to date. If you're 17 with an upcoming birthday, you can enrol now and be eligible to vote. Appropriate proof of identity is necessary (such as a passport or driver's license).... www.aec.gov.au/enrol

WOW somebody nominated me for " Australian LGBT Awards " A big thank you to whoever nominated me , Now I have to just write about myself is it possible to do 300 to 500 words how do I fit it all ln lol ...  Last year they launched the Australian LGBTI Awards at the Sydney Opera House with over 300 guests attending the GALA dinner and many high profile individuals showing their support and receiving acknowledgment through their work within the LGBTI space. The Awards are also labelled "The Gay Oscars" with red carpet appearance by The Veronika's, Lucy Lawless, Molly Meldrum, Samuel Johnson, Danielle Cormack and many more . The main agenda of the event is to work with our Allies in the Corporate world and the entertainment industry to have our message of equality endorsed and to reach a wider audience to achieve acceptance . The media personalities attract main stream press attention which not only helps in our quest for equality but provides businesses and corporation a platform to align their brand with the message of equality. The process is as follows: Nominations: are open now to the public. We are receiving thousands of nominations across our 16 categories as we speak . The nominations are public and at this stage we simply let organisations and Nominees know about that they have been nominated. The Nominee can decline or accept the nomination - if accepting we require a 500 word synopsis on the company including and highlighting any work that has been done on LGBTI inclusion . Once all Profiles been received - we will create a shortlist (The Top 10) based on numbers of nominations received and the profile submission received . The shortlist will then be announced beginning of October - and public voting will start - with the winner announced at the GALA dinner - Friday 2nd March 2018 . www.australianlgbtiawards.com.au
