Rick Springfield and Richard Marx, Long Island NY.

Rick Springfield and Richard Marx, Long Island NY.

For over 50 years, Australia's own Rick Springfield has been entertaining the world and releasing music.

His fans are extremely devoted and one of his biggest fans, my sister, Dawn, has been loyal from his earliest releases.

Growing up, it was all of my brother's and sister's wildest dreams to meet their favorite artists. And, Rick puts himself out there and connects with his fans, not only via meet and greets, CD signings, but during his shows by performing and interacting within the audience. It is pure magic.

I always admired artists who wrote their own music.

From the iconic, number one 1 smash hit "Jessie's Girl" to "I Get Excited," "Don't Talk To Strangers" and "What's Victoria's Secret?," Rick has been turning out classic hits decade after decade.

Rick not only has pulled fans on stage to show his appreciation for their loyalty, but he now connects with a whole new generation of fans: our kids/nieces and nephews.

My niece, Lexi was lucky enough to be pulled on stage during "Don't Talk To Strangers." My sister shared this magical and special moment with her friends via Facebook (you can see the video below) with the caption "Lexi got closer to being "Rick's Girl" than I ever will" and she may deny it, but I witnessed her wiping away a few tears of joy.

Being on stage left my niece with a further desire to perform. She was at play rehearsal when Rick and his mate, Richard Marx, played an acoustic tour at Westbury Music Fair on Long Island, but my sister enjoyed the show with my brother, another sister and most importantly, her son and husband.

If you're able to catch Rick and Richard on this amazing tour, you won't regret it.
