It may be 50 years since Cher claimed her first hit on the US Hot 100, but she has no plans to stop recording new music just yet.
The iconic star has revealed that she hopes to record a brand new song later this year, in what could be the early stages for her 26th studio album.
"Mark [Taylor] has a song and I loved it, and I was supposed to go to England to do it. But then I wanted to go on vacation," Cher told Billboard.
"And so I went on vacation instead. So I'm going to be in England to do something in October, so I'll go early and work with Mark."
Mark Taylor is the guy who produced her 1998 hit 'Believe', which topped charts globally. He also contributed quite a few tracks to her latest album Closer to the Truth.
As for heading back out on the road with her 'Dressed to Kill' world tour after recovering from an acute viral infection that affected her kidneys, Cher is hopeful it will be rescheduled soon.
"Yes, absolutely," she said. "I've got everything. Nothing went anywhere… I will keep 'Dressed to Kill' and 'Welcome to Burlesque' [in the set list], because those are my two favourite songs to do, actually.
"We'll probably get rid of 'Take It Like a Man' [from Closer to the Truth] and we'll put in some more hits, probably.
"I'm hoping that I'll be able to do this. That's my wish. But I can't say that I actually will be able to… My will is pretty strong, so… I don't know."
Cher released her last album Closer to the Truth back in 2013, which peaked at number three in the US and four in the UK, whilst poor promotion in Australia meant it only peaked at #17.
