DIVA Launches 2011 Awards

Sydney's GLBTI entertainment community turned out in force tonight at Sydney's Midnight Shift for the traditional "launch" event for the DIVA Awards. The drag communities awards night.

The iconic poster, shot and designed by Rob Manser of AKA Entertainment revealed a 21st birthday delivering total glamour - with model Ell o'Ell spilling forth a plate load of a DIVA's favourite items... "Cupcakes and Face".

"I wanted to meld the young with the iconic - it is of course DIVA's 21st birthday - so having Elle front the campaign is perfect. A young talented queen with a fabulous look - tied in with iconic references from Drag superstar, Ru Paul - "Cupcakes and Face" - it was a girly heavenly match that suited DIVA's birthday celebrations. To top it off, one of this years sponsors is Sparkle Cupcakes - so it couldnt be better!" Rob said.

On the back of the massive success of having Favourite DJ and Favourite Venue voted for online last year, this year, ALL SIX Public Categories, including BITCH OF THE YEAR, FAVOURITE VENUE, FAVOURITE DJ, FAVOURITE MALE PERFORMER, FAVOURITE SHOW and FAVOURITE DRAG PERSONALITY will be voted for by the public online right here on Guidetogay.com! There will also be the traditional Public Voting Day, to be held at The Stonewall Hotel on the Saturday 22nd October from 12pm - 5pm.
