What a week!! As if the Water Park Party wasn't enough, Matinee continued to serve up the goods as Circuit Festival 2012 roared to the finish line.
The festival didn't so much wind down in the last few days as wind up, and up and up and up (check out our picture galleries to see for yourself).
After the warm up Pool Party, Splash!, we hopped on the Circuit Bus and headed to Rapido - the party all the way from Italy which featured some amazing costumes, and (in my opinion) the best music of any of the Festival's many parties! Anyone who can mash up 'Show Me Love' with 'Set Fire to the Rain' is an amazing DJ and the baseline honestly had my balls tingling for the entire night.
Next up was the Main Pool Party and Main Party - more back to back partying which I haven't attempted since my four day Mardi Gras marathon and let me tell you, it's like riding a bike. Especially when you're surrounded by so many hot European men with their affinity with wearing next-to-nothing Speedos!
The Main Party featured some of the best lighting and lasers I've ever seen, not to mention the go-go dancers and their MAMMOTH... skills.
After a short rest (read: dancing well into the next day at Clubberdome @DBOY), we freshened ourselves up for the big finale - Le Leche! and Super MartXe.
Le Leche! (Spanish for 'The Milk') has been held in Sydney a couple of times, but you can never quite experience a party until you've done so in its birth place. It would be like taking Daywash to New Zealand, just doesn't feel right! Matinee topped off the last party at Stiges beach with another amazing fire works display which also signaled that it was time to return to Barcelona for one last party... Super MartXe at Razzmatazz Club (symbolically - the festival finished where it began).
Super MartXe (also held in Sydney previously) was mental. Being the last party everyone was in high spirits. Not deterred by the sheer heat in the club and bucket loads of sweat we were producing, we partied until the sun came up and our Circuit 2012 adventure was officially over.
Getting up for the flight that morning was beyond painful, but so worth it.
Circuit honestly has to be experienced to be believed. Words can only go so far as to describe it. The music, the atmosphere and (obviously) the thousands of international studs (my favourite are the NYC queens - so animated!)
Please check out our photo galleries and if you happened to be there this year, we'd love to hear your thoughts.
Until next year... Stay safe.
