The year has started off with a bang with the first Heaven Social Dance of the year.
We kicked off 2016 with ''The Drag Factor'' on the 9th January. Wow what a night at Heaven. Thank you firstly to all the people that came –(over 150 people), the judges, (Melicious Dámage , Eliza Down & Cliff From The DragMaker) and the Fabulous host of the evening PORTIA TURBO. The WINNING Contestants were: Coco Foxx (1st), Ellectra Kute (2nd) & Fifi Fo'Fum (3rd).
Eliza Down and our 3 place getters will open a brand NEW ''DRAG-EU-VISION” show on 19th March. PopUp Drag will take place at 10pm for any perfromers wishing to hit the stage and show us what they’ve got for their chance at the cash prize….OMFG It will be my 29th birthday with 20years experience and I will stress and cry if I want to on 21st March . Again thank you to all the patrons and bar staff. It was great to see so many people. www.heavensocialdance.com
Also just last weekend (6Feb) was the opening of the NEW Palms West Social Dance at Merrylands with the night providing something for everybody: Palms upstairs and Karaoke downstairs. People had a fabulous night and raised over $1000 for Twenty10 (or so I've been informed). In 2014 people said two social dances in western Sydney was '' TOO MUCH '' so we reduced to 6… but after last weekend’s huge success for the new palms, maybe people want more, more, more??? Only time will only tell gorgeous.
The fabulousity which is Fair Day Sunday 21st February , started as soon as we exited the car and were approached by a young man who offered us a "service" in the laneway last year... considering it was the second time in 17 years that I have attended Fair Day as a boy and I still nearly got lucky, he made me feel like a dirty old man so we ran off to Victoria Park to join in the festivities. Fair Day was an eye opener this year as I will just one of thousands of people sitting on a blanket in front of the main stage. It's a sign that I really am a nobody, nobody recognised me lol !!!!!!!!!
When Fair Day is over you know the Parade is soon to follow on 05 March . After walking and working the parade for 17 years, will this year be any different? As you get older, it seems the route gets longer... despite offers to be part of a float, this will be the second year in a row that I will be watching the parade from VIP Area and dashing off to the party with my partner in crime. I just had too much fun last year at the Party. I'd like to see more floats and social groups from the West be involved, it seems everyone splits into other groups at Mardi Gras time when it should be a time that we unite? www.mardigras.org.au

Which Western Sydney drag queen now feels the need to attack me/heaven and my friends just to promote something she's doing !! Last time I pay her for anything gorgeous. In other gossip, which former Western Sydney drag superstar has lost all of her bookings except the one she stole from me? And which Western Sydney Drag star might have bitten off more than she can chew by working up to 6 nights a week?
Until next time Gorgeous, BB www.beverlybuttercup.com
Have a Happy and safe Mardi Gras!
