Beverly Buttercup (60)

So Mardi Gras has come and gone…  after 17 times marching in the parade, I made the decision, after well-made plans backfired on me (and being the lazy old Queen I am) to finally front up to the parade and party as… you guessed it – a boy!

I decided for the third time in 26 years of being a drag queen that enough was enough. Was I scared? You bet. But boy was I mistaken. I have mixed feelings about Mardi Gras as I didn't see much of the parade because too many people .. Then off to the party I went. CHER were pretty awesome considering  she is 71 ... and It was nice to some of my idols in the LEGENDS OF DRAG Show at midnight. BUT the rest of the entertainment was a little average considering the party “Sold Out“ and it was the 40th anniversary I thought they would’ve been a lot more!
I ended up leaving at 5am and was in bed by 6am Maybe it's a case of me just being a little bit old and my legs started to kill me and let's not talk about the legend Marcia Monterey walking group with some of western Sydney‘s legends walking in the parade in some of the fabulous costumes Marcia made over the years I honestly don’t think I could walk in the parade ever again it’s a long day and night so glad i did not walk in the parade. I actually enjoyed myself a little bit more just as a boy. Over 10,000 performers took part in the parade to help celebrate 40 years of Mardi Gras…the best night ever at a MG party... I hope you all had a blast too!

This month I celebrate 26 years of doing drag, meaning I'm “technically” 51 years young! OMG it's my birthday = ''YUCK" That means i will reduce my responsibilities and push it onto my drag daughters and other high-profile queens in western community.

I’M SO EXCITED to announce that I'll be doing my own radio program PRIDE RADIO 89.3Fm from Sunday, 1 April and then every Sunday from 18:00 to 20:00 With weekly special guest in the studio + someone from ACON fortnightly at 7:15Pm and Jeremy Smith with what's hot and what's not in movies fortnightly at 7:15pm. The program will be supporting the LGBTQ community I really think it's important that we have a gay radio program on the radio on the Internet and on your phone as there's lots of other programs out there but nothing in Sydney on the radio. (but there might be one more program coming to the radio will have more info in April) ... With that said I am looking for people or companies that are able to donate money to keep the program on air as we are required to pay for 2hr air time yearly ($960) with all new application for the program at 2GLF 89.3fm in 2018 So if you can help out that would be awesome just SMS me 0433232425 your name your number and how you can help for more info check out our brand new website :

The fabulously which is Fair Day Sunday 18th February , started as soon as we exited the car and were approached by a young man who offered us a "service" in the laneway in glebe a couple years ago .. considering it was the second time in 19 years that I have attended Fair Day as a boy and I still nearly got lucky, he made me feel like a dirty old man so we ran off to Park to join in the festivities... and this year fair day will RETURN to Victoria Park, City Rd Camperdown From 10am-8pm, just one of thousands the people sitting on a blanket in front of the main stage. It's a sign that I really am a nobody, nobody will recognised me or will they after being plastered all over the Liverpool & Fairfield Champion (the local paper) last year in and out of DRAG !! OMG !!

When Fair Day is over you know the Parade is soon to follow on 03 March . After walking and working the parade for 17 years, this year be any different lol As last year I watched the parade and enjoyed it so much now I'm getting older, it seems the route gets longer... despite offers to be part of a float, this will be the third year in a row that I will be watching the parade from VIP Area and dashing off to the party with my partner in crime to see CHER and some of the legends of drag .. my peers :) I just had too much fun last year at the Party out of drag so this year will be half boy half drag lol . I'd like to see more floats and social groups from the West be involved this year for the 40 anniversary for Mardi Gras, it seems everyone splits into other groups at Mardi Gras time when it should be a time that we unite?

draggossipWhich Western Sydney drag queen now feels the need to attack me/heaven just to promote something she's doing!! Last time I pay her for anything gorgeous.

In other gossip, which former Western Sydney drag superstar has been BANNED from all the Asian fabric shops?

Apparently, she was caught putting things in her bag while she was walking around the shop. Oh no!

Which Western Sydney Drag star might have bitten off more than she can chew by working up to 6 nights a week and is now sick? She is due to fly out the country at the of the month and then there is The Voice or should I say no voice at the moment! (Hope you get better asap!)

Until next time Gorgeous, BB

Have a Happy and safe Mardi Gras!

Just For The Record!?

A brand new year and a brand new me ! WoW hasn't it started with a bang ?

After volunteering at the local radio station 89.3fm 2glf at Liverpool back in 2001 and being part of 3 fabulous shows, Out West & Proud 1998-2001, Queer Out West 2001-2016 & Queer Radio Sydney in 2017, I decided (Beverly Buttercup) on 18th December 2017 to have a break.  I will not be returning to the studio in 2018. it’s a combination of a few different things, people have changed , too much politics , sick of relying on people, and being attacked for things out of my control.. ITS TIME FOR A BREAK.. The fabulous Pandora Box & crew will continue doing the show. Queer Radio Sydney 89.3Fm from 8th January 2018 and fingers crossed someone will reapply to do the program in February/March , I would like to thank everybody that has contributed to the program and helped me and listening and for supporting community radio. draggossipDRAG GOSSIP

OMG which former Western Sydney (drag) queen is being chased by the taxation Department for unpaid taxes, with another Sydney drag queen being monitored for receiving payments and not declaring their extra income from drag ....K is for Karma what goes around comes around, remember that Girls and Boys not mentioning any names  it has happened to all of us in the past. I could also say people in Glass Houses shouldn't  throw stones.  Being a bully and a hypocrite and spreading rumours does not make you popular...

So for now I leave you with my resolutions - what's yours?  ?

(1) Discover who my real friends are.

(2) Do whatever makes me happy, And be with whoever makes me smile.

(3) Put me first this year

(4) Try and stress less ...

Until next time gorgeous! (15FEB) Luv BB

Ho Ho Ho! (Why thank you Santa, YES I am)

Are we just being jolly or talking about the stage acts?

As some of you may know, I have never been one for Christmas. I've never had a real reason to celebrate, and the thought of doing Christmas spots made me cringe...

However, this year the tables have turned and I'm feeling a little excited, just like Big Kev. A drama free Christmas... Hopefully I don't get a sudden heart attack from all the excitement lol.
2017 will see me celebrating Christmas with my son now living with me and do the whole family thing OMFG. Will it be all turkey and pudding, or will it just be boring?

One good thing has come out of this year is that Heaven Social Dance is that we raised over $ 24,108 since first starting and that going to The Western Suburbs Haven Inc & ACON. This money will be used to help support and promote the ENDING HIV.. I would like to say a big thank you to all of the performers that supported us this year as well as the Heaven Committee: Ian Stumbles, Greg Robert & LayDee KinMee. Also a big thank to all our regulars that have supported us throughout the year. Hopefully this will be a sign of what’s to come in 2018 and patrons will continue to support Heaven at Mounties Bowling Club – Fairfield. It is so great to be able to give back to the L.G.B.T.Q community.

We at Heaven Social Dance are looking for an array of drag talent to perform at our social nights in Western Sydney, which has provided Western Sydney drag performers a place to perform, build up a following and fine tune their talents... Heaven social dance will present Drag Factor at our bi-monthly dance's staring on 03rd February and 7th April in 2018. Calling upon all Drag Queens and Drag Kings from in and around Western Sydney to come along with your best Spot Number on 03rd February and 7th April and be in the running to WIN A SHARE OF $1200!!! 3 performers from the competition will become the new faces of heaven for the 2nd half of 2018. Its looks to a BIG YEAR next year in the Western Sydney with more drag queens working in the RSL and Clubs, hotels and Social Dance's providing entertainment like Bingo , Trivia , Drag Shows and productions for LGBTQI people. With less people travelling to the city NOW the west is going off in 2018 here a list some of the things happening:

Heaven Social Dance
Turbo Trivia
Turbo Bingle Balls
Gendebender Bingo
Naughty Numbers
Sandyoke Karaoke
The 3 Sisters Social Group
Drag To Bitches
Prada's Priscilla's
Drag Bingo
The Polly's Club
Queer Radio Sydney 89.3fm Every Monday 10pm -12am.

OMG I told you so much happening in the west just search for them on Facebook or Google
Whilst on this subject, I do not do drag for a living as I have a full-time job. My first priority will always be to the LGBTI community; providing safe environments, raising awareness and money as Heaven and Kaleidoscope have done over the years. They’ve raised more than $31,971 for ACON and The Haven in Western Sydney. I really hope that I can continue to do this in 2018 with your help.

Please support our nights in Western Sydney.  Please be aware that these social dances are not-for-profit social nights with all proceeds after initial costs being donated to charity.  Initial costs are function fees, DJ hire and a small entertainment budget.

Its official am officially DEAD!!!
My drag daughter has taken over with so much work on her plate, I don’t know how she copes. She will be performing at The Blue Mountain next year with the 3 Sisters Social Group announcing "Laydee KinMee and her Dancing Boys" will be the face of the Australia Day Dance Party and the June long weekend Dance Party & Costume Ball...

And in other gossip, which former Western Sydney competition winner is in trouble with the Police for not topping up her opal card and giving Police too much lip? Looks like performing on her knees may have won her a dodgy comp, but it won’t let her slip away from criminal activity.

Until next time (12JAN) gorgeous Merry Christmas and a Gay New Year.
Be safe.
Love BB

Y'all up for some more D.R.A.M.A? ;-)

Drama Drama Drama! (& Controversy) surrounding Richard's Got Talent #3

"Have you got what it takes to be Richards on the Park's next drag superstar '' ? Well it all finished on Friday the 10th November with 12 contestants competing over 4 months to take home $1000 + 6 Month residency at Showtime .

Who said there's nothing exciting happening in western Sydney With the contestants dropping out in droves and then there's the controversy with the favourite to win, being asked to leave RGT#3 at the last minute after failing to turn up for one of the heats after a loved one passed away. Whatever happened to COMPASSION?

Oh well it's their loss because she is fabulous and there is always bigger and better for her.. NOW with WINNER Assuma Gender and 2nd Runner up Holly Grail .. let's see if we ever hear from the winner again!?

Don’t forget 'Showtime' is still running on the third Saturday of the month , That's this Saturday 18th Nov from 9pm-3am and it's totally FREE.

WOW ... After 6 SELL OUT SHOWS at Campbelltown RSL, they’re back AGAIN!!! Drags To Bitches on the 25th November and it will sell out so be quick. So come and join us as we celebrate all that is DRAG and those fabulous BITCHES we all know and love.

It's that time of the year where we put our differences behind us and come together and CELEBRATE everything ''DRAG" with the Drag Industry Variety Awards being announced to be returning in December, OMG after being nominated 8 times for the "Queen Of Hearts Diva Award" it's been fabulous to have won 3 times in the 21 years of doing drag , After I decided in 2013 To go in to semi retirement after doing (drag) for 21 years OMFG !! and I did not attend the 26th Annual Diva Awards. Last year NEVER to receive a nomination again as the queen of hearts award was removed in 2015 never to be seen again time will only tall, With this year's date for the Diva Awards locked in for the 4th of December it will be a lot different I guess as the Sydney Scene has changed a lot !?

Drag Gossip

As you all know - I'm a big believer of KARMA!

What goes around comes around! A certain drag queen is name dropping to get bookings and undercutting to take other drag queens bookings and they have not been around very long and most likely won't last very long ..''REMEMBER YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET"   (It's the same old storhy all over again and just a new face who does not know their rep will be riuined in a milli second!)

And with another queen/diva lol .. Ummmmm Cheater Cheater where'd you meet her, what western sydney drag queen can't keep it in her pants for 5 days cheated on her partner but then again what happens in Golum country stays in the land of the long white... "cloud" unless there's a trip to the doctor after lol where'd you meet her?  #meow

Until next time gorgeous! (12DEC)

Luv BB

I will leave it up to you guys to fill in the blank‘s I don’t want any more drama this month friends then not friends then friends it’s all just too hard to keep up with the well-known puss in Western Sydney being shipped back to the pound to have some training on how to behave and how to be politically correct and how to stop spraying as cats do. Which former drag queen was once known as a rose, but now a bitch. Living up to her new and much more socially accurate name, has she gone way too far? After several cat fights, and then threatening to kill her fellow contestants in the group chat of a Western Sydney Talent Quest. Is this the case of a poor victims social media account been hacked, or is she the perpetrator? Will she bloom into a fresh new rose, or rot into a sour old bitch. Only time will tell. I told you it's all happening out west .. WoW, are you ready for more? Which Western Sydney Drag Queen has quit a multi award winning drag show after 2 years for the second time. First time due to a lack of bookings, and now due to her pursuing more financially stable drag and makeup work. With so many cast members coming and going, mirror mirror on the wall, what will the future hold? Thank god I have a full time job and don't have to worry about things like this anymore. Will she now learn the difference between work collages and friends? Will her former work collages continue to be her friend? Sometimes it can get hard to distinguish the difference between work collages and friends.. Also The Drag Industry Variety Awards will not be on this year in October. But sources tell me it may be on in December due to a lack of money in the bank.. More info to come in next month column on 12Oct ..

EQUALITY = Now that the same-sex marriage plebiscite has been defeated, it all comes down to a non-compulsory postal vote. Ballot papers are expected to be sent from September 12 and voters will have until November 7 to send back their votes. A result will be declared on November 15. Unlike with regular voting, you are not legally required to vote unless you want to. To make sure your opinion on the matter is heard, it's important that you're properly registered. Now's the time to check that you're enrolled to vote and your details are up to date. If you're 17 with an upcoming birthday, you can enrol now and be eligible to vote. Appropriate proof of identity is necessary (such as a passport or driver's license)....

WOW somebody nominated me for " Australian LGBT Awards " A big thank you to whoever nominated me , Now I have to just write about myself is it possible to do 300 to 500 words how do I fit it all ln lol ...  Last year they launched the Australian LGBTI Awards at the Sydney Opera House with over 300 guests attending the GALA dinner and many high profile individuals showing their support and receiving acknowledgment through their work within the LGBTI space. The Awards are also labelled "The Gay Oscars" with red carpet appearance by The Veronika's, Lucy Lawless, Molly Meldrum, Samuel Johnson, Danielle Cormack and many more . The main agenda of the event is to work with our Allies in the Corporate world and the entertainment industry to have our message of equality endorsed and to reach a wider audience to achieve acceptance . The media personalities attract main stream press attention which not only helps in our quest for equality but provides businesses and corporation a platform to align their brand with the message of equality. The process is as follows: Nominations: are open now to the public. We are receiving thousands of nominations across our 16 categories as we speak . The nominations are public and at this stage we simply let organisations and Nominees know about that they have been nominated. The Nominee can decline or accept the nomination - if accepting we require a 500 word synopsis on the company including and highlighting any work that has been done on LGBTI inclusion . Once all Profiles been received - we will create a shortlist (The Top 10) based on numbers of nominations received and the profile submission received . The shortlist will then be announced beginning of October - and public voting will start - with the winner announced at the GALA dinner - Friday 2nd March 2018 .
